摘　　要：《钟》是英国当代女作家艾丽丝·默多克的一部力作。以"钟"为统领的意象性构造,使作品具备了"诗性"韵味与感染力。意象手法的成功运用,不仅真实形象地展现了人物复杂的内心世界,而且深化和拓展了小说的主题与想象空间,从而使小说具有了永恒的艺术魅力。The Bell is one of the most significant novels by the contemporary British writer Iris Murdoeh. This paper presents an analysis of the metaphorical images in the novel with the ＂bell＂ as the leading image, which endows the work with a ＂poetic＂ quality and artistic appeal. The author claims that the successful application of the images not only reveals the complicated inner world of the characters vividly, but also contributes greatly to the profoundness of the theme and to the imagination in the novel.
