摘　　要：以理性为核心的二元对立的思维模式是西方思想的重要传统。然而,在《四个四重奏》中,艾略特却解构了传统的二元对立思维模式,并且在非理性领域中进行了重新建构,实现了思维方式的深层转化。艾略特指出,在新型思维模式中,二元之间不再是对立的关系,而是相互联系、相互转化,并且在平等的关系中达成和谐。由于新的思维方式的确立,导致传统的价值分野消失,产生了背离传统的新价值观。Binary Opposition is the essence of the Western philosophical thinking tradition, but its basic pattern has been changed greatly in modern times. In The Four Quartets, T. S. Eliot reveals the disintegration of its old pattern and attempts to reconstruct in the field of irrationalism another one which is characterized by connection, conversion and equality. The two traditional opposite parts now form a harmonious relationship and related traditional values at last disappear.
