摘　　要：以话语信息传递和语言交际功能理论为依据,通过遴选科技英语相关例证作为分析语料,从英语的科技文体视角探析了变式句在信息推进过程中的强调、平衡、衔接、话题导入、情景设定、渐次加强和焦点对比等功能,强调了谙熟这些信息功能对于提高科技英语的阅读、写作和翻译水平的重要性。Based upon the theoretical principles of discourse information transmission and linguistic com- municative function, some relevant examples in EST were chosen as main linguistic materials in this study, and the seven major roles played in information progression of EST by inverted sentences were explored and ana- lyzed from a perspective of EST with unique stylistic features. Importance was also emphasized of getting familiar with all information functions in the paper to improving the level of reading, writing and translating EST.
