英语无灵主语句的认知突显分析

摘　　要：根据Langacker的典型主语定义,无灵主语只是一种非典型主语,是主语范畴中的边缘成分。但从无灵主语的广泛存在性这一语言事实来看,却很有必要从不同角度对其进行全面探讨。本文拟从认知语言学的突显观角度,分析英语无灵主语句的存在理据和生成机制。Compared with the prototypical subject defined by Ronald W. Langacker, inanimate subjects are just atypical or peripheral members in the category of subjects. Their abundance in the English language, however, demands a comprehensive study from different perspectives. This paper aims at analyzing the motivations and mechanisms of English sentences with inanimate subjects from the perspective of cognitive prominence.
