摘　　要：爱伦.坡是美国19世纪浪漫主义时期的重要作家,他的作品《乌鸦》则是一首凝聚了诗人四年心血的经典之作。乌鸦作为全诗的主要意象,统领整首诗的基调。理解乌鸦本身所蕴含的意义,有助于我们更好地了解此诗。用神话原型理论考察乌鸦所代表的正面与负面形象,阐明这些原型在诗中的体现,达到深刻理解诗歌含义的目的。Edgar Allan Poe is an important writer of romanticism in the 19th century America. His work ＂The Raven＂ is a classic work which contains the poet＇ s four years＇ effort. The raven as a major image rides the mood of the whole poem. To comprehend the meaning of the raven can help us understand this poem better. Based on the mythological and archetypal approaches to revie- wing the raven＇ s positive and negative image, how these archetypes are embodied in the poem is explained and the implication of this poem is then further understood.
