摘　　要：西南民族地区社会教育系统发挥着系列基础教育功能:培养民族性格、传播基本的生存知识技能、民族成员综合素质的全面提升。这种功能从根本上表现出与西南民族地区自然与人文生态相适应的一面,构成了区域内各民族生存与进一步发展的基础,同时它也表现出相应的保守性。优化区域内校外教育系统基础教育功能应做到:拓展西南民族地区基础教育之"基础"内涵、强化对正规学校教育资源的吸收、加强区域内社会教育系统的自我反思与自我调整。Social education system in the Southwest ethnic regions plays the role of elementary education,that is,the role of cultivating ethnic character,disseminating basic knowledge and skills for survival and improving comprehensive quality of ethnic people.This reflects the harmonious relation between nature and humanistic ecology in the Southwest ethnic region,and forms the foundation of survival and development of all ethnic groups in this region with some conservativeness.To optimize the basic elementary education function of social education system in the region, the basic connotation of elementary education in this region should be expanded, absorption of formal school education resources should be strengthened and self-reflection and self-readjustment of social educaiton system within the region should be enhanced.
