摘　　要：钱穆从儒家的道德本体论来看待中国文学艺术的本质及其作用。他认为:文学、艺术属历史文化的第三层面,即精神层面。他提出了文学即人生、文学即心学的著名观点,强调中国文化诗学对于人生的重要性,同时指出中国文学的精神在于道德修养和情趣意境。在中国传统艺术中,他最推崇音乐艺术,他认为音乐较之其他艺术形式境界更高,最能表现人心。钱穆的艺术思想是他的人文主义精神的充分体现。Qian Mu mainly analyzes the essence and function of art and literature from the standpoint of Confucian morality noumenon. He thinks that literature and art are the third layer of traditional culture, namely, the layer of spirit. He puts forward his famous viewpoint that literature is human life and emphasizes the significance of Chinese cultural poetics to human life. In the meantime he points out that the spirit of Chinese literature lies in moral culture and its artistic temparament. What＇s more, he specially canonizes the art of music in traditional Chinese arts because he believes that music has much higher realm in comparison to other arts and it can particularly express the emotion of human being. Therefore, Qian＇s thought of art and literature is just the embodiment of his spirit of humanism.
