摘　　要：高职高专英语教学已无法适应形式发展的需要,也不能满足学生对英语能力的实际需求,教学改革势在必行。高职高专英语教学改革必须遵循"能力为本、够用为度"的原则,并从教学思想、教材、教学方法和考核制度等方面进行全方位改革,全面提高教学水平,真正提高学生语言交际的能力。The English teaching at higher vocational colleges can no longer keep abreast of the development under the current situation. Nor can it meet the requirements of college students for their English language capability. Therefore, it is imperative to carry out reform of English teaching at higher vocational colleges. The reform of English teaching at higher vocational colleges should be enacted in accordance with the principles of ＂competency- based and being sufficient. ＂ Besides,it should be implemented in such aspects as teaching concept,teaching material, teaching mode, and teaching assessment so as to upgrade the English teaching and improve the students＇ communicative competence in a comprehensive way.
