摘　　要：雪莱的死从现实角度看是一场意外，然而深入剖析雪莱的精神思想，却可以看出，雪莱的死本质上是一种精神领域的自我删除。雪莱在精神世界建构了理想的乌托邦，却因远离现实而对改良社会无能为力。雪莱的重要作品《钦契》体现了以暴制暴之后的必然死亡，而《解放了的普罗米修斯》却通过普罗米修斯的道德坚守透露出雪莱濒临绝望的理想追求。雪莱最后只有通过死亡来完成对理想的顶礼膜拜以及对丑陋现实的最深鄙视。From realistic point of view,Shelley＇s death is regarded as an accident,but by probing into Shelley＇s inner mind,his death should be defined as a spiritual suicide. Shelley devoted his whole life to building his Utopia which is far beyond the realistic world, so this Utopia has no influence to the real world. Through his important works such as The Cenci and Prometheus Unbound,Shelley expresses his desperation of ideal and his longing for death. His death fulfills his perseverance in his idealistic belief and his deep disgust toward the reality.
