医院双语标识英文译法的问题及对策

摘　　要：分析福建省最具代表性的3家三级甲等综合性医院的有效中英文双语标识375例,与北京市地方标准《公共场所双语标识英文译法(第五部分医疗卫生)》进行对照,并邀请美籍医学专家参与评估其可接受程度。结果表明,被调查医院普遍使用中英文双语标识,但被调查的双语标识正确率仅达44.00%,问题标识发生率高达56.00%。调查表明,该标准对规范医疗卫生机构双语标识使用起到了较好的指导、示范作用,但仍有不少方面有待进一步修订、充实,国家有必要出台更加完善的双语标识翻译规范。This paper makes a detailed investigation into 375 bilingual signs adopted in three upper first-class hospitals in Fujian Province. The study has taken as a standard English Translation of Public Signs Part 5. Health and Medicine and invited an experienced American medical expert to evaluate those samples. The research shows that bilingual signs are used generally in the three hospitals. However, the accuracy rate proves only 44%, with signs which have failed to play their functions amounting to 56%. It has also been observed that although the Standard works effectively in the guidance and standardization o; bilingual signs in various medical institutions, revision is still wanted. Therefore, it is necessary for our country to issue an improved version of standards for English translation of public signs.
