摘　　要：作为中国近代以来第一所国人自办和国立的女子高等学府,北京女子高等师范学校曾经是20世纪早期中国女性接受高等教育的重镇和中心,并因其参与和见证时代嬗变的特质而成为中国社会早期现代性转型的重要标识。但由于建国以后中性化研究取向和传统史学理路等多方面的影响,这所高等学府已经退居教育史学的边缘位置,为人们所逐渐淡忘。对其沿革史略、历史地位及社会意义的重新解读与阐发,意在恢复其历史本真面目,唤起更多的关注和研究。Beijing Female High Normal College, which is the first national higher educational institute for women in modern China, used to be the core female college in the early part of 20th century in China and an important symbol of the early modern transformation of Chinese society since it witnessed and participated in social change. However, as far as this institute has been withdrawn behind the scene of educational historiography and out of people ＂s mind due to the influence of genderless-oriented research and traditional historiography after the foundation of New China. It is indeed necessary to introduce and explore its important meaning in history in order to restore its historical facts and draw more attention.
