摘　　要：作为当代最负盛名的中国古典文学翻译专家,伯顿·华生在美国乃至世界汉学翻译与研究领域享有崇高的声誉。1962年发表的《唐代诗人寒山的100首诗》是华生翻译的第一部中国古典诗歌集。译者在翻译过程中对翻译规范的充分考虑,尤其是对源语文本的细腻考证、"本土化"翻译策略的确定以及译本加注手段的运用,为寒山诗在英语世界的传播、接受与经典化奠定了坚实的基础,这使得中国文学史上的边缘诗人寒山和归属他名下的那些寒山诗在国际汉学界、比较文学界和翻译界都赢得了巨大的声誉。As a renowned translator of classic Chinese literature, Professor Burton Watson enjoys a great fame as an expert in American and world Sinology research. The meticulous textual research, reader-oriented translation strategy and delicate textual annotation of Cold Mountain： 100 Poems by the T＇ang Poet Han-shan, his first book-length translation of Chinese poetry, have laid a solid foundation for the dissemination and reception of the Cold Mountain Poems in the English world. The otherwise peripheral poet, Han Shan, as well as his poems has thus won a tremendous popularity in the fields of Sinology, Comparative Literature and Translation Studies.
