摘　　要：阅读是一项复杂的人类活动,影响阅读的因素也是多种多样的。以母语知识为先备知识的中国外语学习者的外语学习必然会受其母语知识和思维的影响。本文从词汇和句法在阅读过程中造成的障碍来探讨英语阅读中母语思维的作用。Reading is a complicated action in people＇s life. And there are various factors which affect the result of reading. The Chinese learners have the systemic Chinese knowledge system before they begin to learn the foreign language, so their foreign language learning process will surely be affected by the first language system. So does the reading process. This paper will discuss the role of first language thinking in reading from the effect of vocabulary and sentence structure in English reading.
