摘　　要：Language use cannot be separated from its context. Any piece of discourse is the product of a certain context. When we read a piece of discourse, we are trying to understandLanguage use cannot be separated from its context. Any piece of discourse is the product of a certain context. When we read a piece of discourse, we are trying to understand it and interpret it. Without context, we cannot interpret anything because of the uncertainty of meaning potentiaL. So if we want to understand a text, we must know its context.
