摘　　要：语用含糊作为一种特殊的语言手段和交际策略,在中美外交部门的记者招待会中较为常见。通过灵活地运用间接指示语、模糊限制语、低调陈述和间接言语行为等语用含糊策略,发言人顺应了外交活动特殊的交际语境,在对话中巧妙地维护了国家利益,巩固和发展了良好的外交关系。As a special linguistic means and communicative strategy, pragmatic vagueness is often applied in the press conference of both Sino - US foreign affairs＇ departments. Through such strategies as indirect deictics, hedges, understatements and indirect speech acts, spokespersons adapt to the communicative context of diplomatic practice, tactically safeguard his/her national interests, strengthen and develop sound diplomatic ties in the exchanges.
