摘　　要：本文是对美国的宏观、微观文化的一个概述和分析研究。首先,从客观、主观及交际三个层面上概述了美国文化。其次,讨论了人生活当中的重要文化因素以及这些文化因素是通过何种方式影响并塑造个体的。最后,提出对美国文化及其形成因素的深刻理解能够启发教师的英语教学。This paper makes a description for American culture on objective, subjective, and communication dimensions and within macro and micro levels. Meanwhile, this paper attempts to analyze what the important cultural factors are in people＇ s lives, and how these factors influence and shape people into who they are today. In the conclusion, this essay suggests understanding American culture in a deep and wide perspective and the way it is transmitted would be helpful for educators in foreign English teaching.
