摘　　要：本文侧重于研究医学英语论文的名物化现象,从功能语法的角度对中外医学工作者撰写的英文医学论文中名物化的使用情况进行比较与分析,以期为国内医学工作者撰写英文医学论文提供借鉴。The aim of this study is to prove that we can rely on Functional Grammar for the exploration of nominal- ization in medical research papers written by non - native speakers （NNS） as compared with those written by native speak- ers （NS）. Associated with this ultimate purpose are some objectives： （1）To analyze and compare medical papers written by NNS and those written by NS; （2） To explore the role that nominalization plays in the written discourse of EMP.
