摘　　要：图表作文是英语写作中难度较大的一类写作题型,不仅考查学生的英语写作能力,同时,还考查学生能够从非文字材料中获取信息,能够对图表、数据进行分析,以及把非文字信息转换成文字信息的能力。本文试图通过对NEWC（全国高职高专英语写作大赛）初赛样卷的剖析,探讨图表作文写作的有效途径。＂Essay writing through graphs＂ is a kind of rather difficult composition in English because it both tests the students＇ writing ability and requires the students to show their abilities not only to get information from the materials without any more words, but also to analyze the figures and data and to transfer the non-character information into character one. This paper intends to discuss the efficient ways of writing such compositions through analyzing the sample papers for National English Wring Contest.
