摘　　要：通过对河北省公共场所公示语汉英翻译现状进行调查,了解外籍人员对公示语翻译的满意度和需求,以外籍人员对公示语样本的评价作为依据,分析了公示语样本错误的分布情况、错误类别以及造成错误的原因。分析结果表明:英汉两种语言的文化差异是公示语翻译中的难点,也是造成公示语翻译错误的主要原因,公示语的翻译必须考虑这种文化差异,译者必须从译入语的思维和文化角度考虑,为外籍人员提供精确、完善的信息服务。A deep and all-round investigation and analysis of the status of the English translation of public signs used in public places of Hebei province is made in the research,the result of which reveals that it is the cultural differences that difficult the Chinese-English translation of public signs and results in the mistakes with the translation.The translators of public signs must take this into consideration in order to provide correct and precise information for the foreigners living in Hebei province.
