摘  要:阅读在英语教学中占有十分重要的地位。如何提高学习者的阅读能力,是每位阅读课教师及学习者特别关注的问题,更是教学改革需要探索的一个重要问题。汕头大学自2002年以来进行了一系列的英语教学改革,取消了原来在英语专业三四年级开设的高级英语阅读课程,取而代之的是一门"语篇分析与阅读"课。我们试图运用语篇分析理论指导英语阅读课的教学,对我们这一教学改革的必要性、可行性、教学内容以及教改后的初步成效进行分析。Reading comprehension plays a vital role in English teaching and learning. Thus, how to efficiently enhance the learners’ reading is the very concern for both teachers and students, and it is also an important matter that the educational reform needs to explore. Since 2002, our university has carried out a series of English teaching reform, in which the curriculum and teaching methodology have experienced the greatest change. For instance, the course of Advanced English Reading for juniors and seniors was cancelled, and instead a course named as Text analysis and Reading was provided. We attempted to apply discourse theories as guidance for teaching English reading. This paper will present a case analysis of our teaching methodology
