摘　　要：本文探讨了理工科院校外语人才培养模式改革的必要性,提出理工科院校外语专业应充分利用理工院校的学科环境优势,走与强势专业结合的道路,通过有效地教学资源整合,提升外语专业的科技教育内涵,建立复合应用型外语人才培养体系。西安科技大学将外语专业同地矿、机电等优势学科相结合,不断创造外语专业发展新的生长点,走出了一条理工科院校外语专业发展的特色之路。This paper discusses the necessity of reforming training model of qualified foreign language talents,and puts forward the proposal that those foreign languages departments or schools in universities of ST should make full use of the external academic discipline advantages,take the road of combining foreign languages with some dominant specialties and attach scientific and technical features to foreign language majors by effectively integrating teaching resources, build up complex and application-oriented foreign language talents training system.At the same time,taken Xi＇an University of Science and Technology as an example,this paper explores possible and characteristic ways in universities of ST to develop foreign language majors with features of combining foreign languages with some dominant specialties,such as the Geology and Mining,Electrical and Mechanical,etc.
