摘　　要：句子是构成段落和篇章的基本单位,一篇文章的优劣在很大程度上取决于句子的表达。句子连贯是英文写作中的一个基本要素。从修辞的角度探究英语句子连贯性可培养学生重视英语句子的修辞效果,写出清楚、准确的句子,提高写作技巧,将语言知识转化为言语交际能力。The sentence is the basic unit to form a paragraph or an essay.The quality of a composition relies to a great extent on the expression of a sentence.Sentence coherence is one of the important elements in English writing.Making a study of coherence in English sentences from the rhetorical perspective,the teacher can draw more attention from the students to the rhetorical effect of English sentences so as to develop their writing skills to produce clear and correct English sentences and turn their language knowledge into their communicative ability.
