摘　　要：《喧哗与骚动》中班吉的时间不属于机械的物理时间,而是属于奥古斯丁式的神圣时间范畴,在他的世界里,时间转化成了以爱为中心的意识,心灵的直觉力量使他超越了历史表象,得以与永恒相通。福克纳通过班吉表明,持存爱的心灵是人的存在力量之源,能使人超越线性历史时间。Benjy＇s time in The Sound and the Fury is not physical time,but Augustine＇s sacred time.In Benjy＇s world,time has been converted into the consciousness of love.With the spiritual power of intuition,he goes beyond the historical appearance to reach eternality.According to Faulkner＇s description about Benjy,a heart full of love is the power source of human existence,which can help people transcend linear historical time.
