摘　　要：申丹教授的《叙事、文体与潜文本——重读英美经典短篇小说》一书不仅阐明了叙事学和文体学之间对照与互补的关系,而且廓清了一些长期困扰叙事学界的核心概念。基于其创造性的"整体细读"法,此书著者对英美经典短篇小说的"潜文本"进行了全新的解读。本文将分别介绍各章的主要内容,归纳评介其特点,并阐述其研究意义。Professor Dan Shen's monograph,Narrative,Style and Subtext: Reinterpretation of the British and American Classic Short Stories,not only carries out a further study of the contrasting and complementary relation between narratology and stylistics,but also clears up the confusion among critics over some key concepts of narratology.Taking 'overall close reading' as her creative approach,Professor Shen effectively unveils the 'subtexts' of some British and American classic short stories.The present paper endeavors to review the main contents of this monograph and explore its academic characteristics and significance.
