摘 要:英语课程改革对中学生所需掌握词汇量提出了更高要求,而与此同时,不少学生觉得学习词汇很困难。右脑开发和多元智能理论为解决这个难题指出了新的途径。基于这一理论,研究者努力设法激励学生发挥潜在的想像力,在看似多么不同的单词之间去发现它们的奇妙联系。教师向学生推介并引导他们试验几种独特的词汇联想学习方法,比如:亲缘联想法、寻根溯源法、谐音法和“拆、变、并”法。所有这些方法证明对提升学生理解和记忆英语词汇是有效的。而且,这些成果都是教师在不加课、不加作业的情况下取得的。Not a few high school students consider it difficult to master a large enough English vocabulary which is necessary to satisfy the increasingly high demands from the English curriculum reform. The theories on Right Brain Exploration and Multiple Intelligences shed light on solving this problem. In this way, researchers are making efforts to arouse our students' interest in finding connection between two or several seemingly different words and thus creating marvelous association, teachers present and direct our students to experiment a few association -based learning methods such as Cousin Finding Method, Origin Tracing Method, Homophonic Method and Separating- varying- combining Method. All these methods prove effective in enhancing students' ability of understanding and memorizing English words. Furthermore, teachers have achieved all these goals without giving students more lessons or assignment.
