摘　　要：人们常用动物词来描写人物的特征,然而许多动物词在英汉语中具有不同的文化内涵,不能直接生搬硬套。本文从文化重合、文化冲突、文化移植与归化及文化空缺四个方面对英汉动物名词文化内涵的异同进行比较,同时研究其翻译策略,这不仅有助于语言的学习,同时也有助于避免跨文化交际中误解和冲突的出现。Animals words are often adopted to describe characteristics of human being,but many animal words have different cultural connotations in Chinese and English culture which cannot be translated directly.The comparison and translation of Chinese and English animal words in the aspect of cultural connotations will be of great significance,which will not only benefit language study for English learners,but help to avoid the occurrence of misunderstandings even conflicts in cross-cultural communication.
