从英汉习语异同看中西文化的重合与冲突

摘　　要：英汉习语是英汉语言在使用过程中形成的独特的、固定的表达方式,最能体现英汉民族的文化特征。英汉习语有各自的特点及文化内涵,中西文化既有共同的群众性、思想性和艺术性,又有不同的民族性、地域性和思维方式。文化重合是局部的,文化上的冲突是常态的。分析文化上的重合与冲突可资英语语言教学和跨文化交际参考借鉴。Both English and Chinese idioms are specific and structurally fixed expressions.They are formed while the languages are being used.They are the key way to show a nation＇s culture.Through comparing the similarities and differences between English and Chinese idioms,this paper attempts to expound the common cultural features（such as folksiness,instructiveness and artistry）,and cultural conflicts（such as national characteristics and the way of thinking）,so as to facilitate English teaching and international communication.
