摘　　要：本文概述了新疆外语教育历史发展的基本状态,阐述了目前新疆经济和社会发展所面临的国际环境,论述了国家安全和对外开放对外语人才的迫切需求,从战略高度说明了新疆外语教育调整的必要性,并提出了外语教育调整的原则和具体的对策。This article gives a general illustration on the history and development of foreign language education in Xinjiang. Specifically, it elaborates the international environment for the economic and social development in Xinjiang and reveals the urgent demands for talents with foreign language skills in order to maintain national security and opening policy. Then it illustrates the necessity of adjustments of foreign language education in Xinjiang and proposes principles and specific counterrueasures of adjustment.
