摘  要:Interactive approach to reading has drawn the attention of numerous teachers, especially in the second and foreign language setting. However, with regard to reading, the term "interaction" has been used in three different senses reading as interactive process, interactive model of reading and textual interaction. From a systemic point of view text is thought of as an integration of the local and global levels, and conjunctions are one of the important textual elements that give rise to this interaction. To examine the role in reading comprehension of the conjunctions used to organize ideas at the level of the text rather than the clause, the researchers opted for an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) reading passage and eliminated all the conjunctions to come up with two different forms of the same passage: original unmodified version and global-conjunctions-free version.
