摘　　要：教育的最终目的是促进人的发展。课堂教学是完成教育目的的重要途径,英语课堂教学是指导学生获得终身发展的重要途径。本文从外语课堂教学评价的目的意义、基本理念、种类、手段及方法的运用等方面着手,力求提高教学质量。英语课堂教学评价要体现过程评价,对教学过程性的评价更加有利于提高课堂效率。The ultimate goal of education is to promote the development of human beings and classroom teaching is an important path which attains the goal.English classroom teaching is an important path which guides students in accomplishing their lifelong development.This paper discusses ways to improve the teaching quality from the significance of foreign language classroom teaching evaluation,basic concepts,types,means and methods.The evaluation should be based on the teaching process because it helps upgrade the effectiveness of classroom teaching.
