摘　　要：阿瑟·韦利(ArthurWaley)是20世纪上半叶最伟大的英国汉学家、翻译家之一,为中西文化的交融做出了巨大的贡献。他一生译作颇丰,对于翻译有着自己独到的见解。从翻译目的、翻译选择、翻译素养和翻译方法等不同维度来看韦利的翻译,可以发现韦利翻译思想的价值以及它们对我国典籍翻译的深远影响。Arthur Waley,one of the greatest British sinologists and translators in the first half of the 20th century,which has made significant contributions to making Chinese culture and literature known to the West.The bulk of Arthur Waley＇s works is impressive while his thoughts on translation are also rich and insightful.The study of Waley＇s translation thoughts from the aspects of translation purpose,translation selection,translation methods and translator＇s quality reveals the value of Waley＇s translation thoughts and their far-reaching impact on translation of Chinese classics.
