摘　　要：本文针对当前大学英语精读课堂存在的沉默现象,对萍乡高等专科学校英语专业一年级专科生进行了抽样调查。通过问卷调查、课堂观察和课后访谈的方式,从学生、教师以及课堂环境因素的角度分析了造成学生课堂沉默的原因,并试图提出一些打破这种课堂沉默的策略。This research adopts a series of methods including questionnaires,classroom observations and interviews,in order to gain a deeper insight into the reasons for students＇ silence in English Intensive Reading class.The paper makes a sample survey of English major junior college freshmen in Pingxiang College to investigate their classroom performance.It analyzes the reasons for students＇ silence in English Intensive Reading Class from three aspects including student,teacher and classroom environment,and it also explores strategies to conquer it.
