民国时期教会学校外语教育的历程、特点与影响——以福建地区为中心

摘　　要：民国时期福建教会学校的外语教育经历了普及、规范、发展、困顿及恢复诸阶段,最终利用对外交流方面的传统优势,以其系统的课程设置、强大的师资力量、丰富的教学用书、兼收并蓄的教学方法以及学以致用、融贯各科的教育理念,使其外语教学水平和学生外语素质十分突出。同时,教会学校外语教育所带来的新的教学内容、教学方法和教育思想,促进了福建教育的近代化发展。During the period of Republic of China,foreign language teaching in Fukien missionary schools experienced the popularizing,regulating,developing,frustrating and recovering stages,and with the traditional advantages of the frequent foreign exchanges,systematic curriculum,strong faculty,abundant teaching materials,eclectic teaching methods and pragmatic and comprehensive education philosophy,the level of foreign language teaching and the students＇ foreign language quality of these schools kept prominent.Meanwhile,the missionary schools＇ foreign language education bought in new subjects,new teaching approaches and conception,and thus promoted the educational modernization in Fukien.
