摘　　要：本文以一次关于大学英语教材对教师专业发展作用问卷调查的结果为基础，分析了大学英语教材对教师英语语言能力、教学能力及反思、科研等职业发展能力的影响。分析显示，目前大学英语教师的教材使用能够促进其语言能力和教学能力提高，但他们通过创新使用和开发教材进行教学反思并开展基于教材使用的课堂研究的能力还有待进一步发展。文章最后对大学英语教材研究和编写提出了建议。Based on a questionnaire survey of 30 college English teachers, this research studies the role of teaching materials in language teacher development. It finds that the use of teaching materials can improve college English teachers＇ language proficiency and language teaching skills. However, their abilities of teaching reflection and classroom-based research should be further developed in using teaching materials. In the end, the research pats forward some advice on the writing principles of college English teaching materials and future studies of teaching materials development and evaluation.
