汉英新词异同及其翻译策略

摘  要:随着现代社会的飞速发展,语言也在不断更新,汉语和英语都出现大量的新词以描述新事物和新现象。汉英新词产生于相同的时代背景,存在一些共同之处,但中西方文化背景的不同也造成了它们之间的差异,主要体现在新词的隐喻方面。通过汉语新词异同的对比分析,才能在翻译时采用相应的翻译策略,以促进中西方的相互交流与沟通。With the rapid development of modem society, language is also changing continuously. To describe the new things and new phenomena, there is a considerable increase in neologism of both English and Chinese. Created under the same ages, they have some similar features, while the cultural differences between China and the West also give rise to their differences, mainly in the application of metaphorization. A comparison between Chinese and English neologism will help translators choose the appropriate translating strategies, so as to promote the mutual understanding between China and the West.
