摘 要:本文通过对认知策略使用情况的调研探析英语专业学生的英语阅读思维活动。调研的结果表明:就阅读过程中认知策略的使用率而言,分析推理类的使用率最高,综合归纳类最低。然而六大类的使用率都处于中间水平。从认知策略的使用情况可推断学生的演绎推理思维一般比较活跃,但仍需加强深度;不少学生缺乏综合归纳以及空间思维的意识和实践;总体看来大多数学生的英语阅读思维不够活跃。本文认为提高思维能力对于提高阅读理解能力有很大的促进作用,应成为英语阅读教学的重要内容之一。The article presents the results of a studyon thinking activities explored in 51 English majors' reports of their use of cognitive strategies in English reading. The results indicate that the average frequency of the six-category strategy use is about mid-level, with deductive reasoning ranking the highest on the list and synthesizing the lowest. Cognitive strategy application reveals that the students are considerably active in deductive reasoning though there is still room for further improvement, but in general most students' thinking is not adequately activated in reading and many students lack the awareness and practice of doing synthesizing and spatial thinking. The article suggests that improvement of thinking will greatly facilitate English reading comprehension and it should be included in the teaching of English reading.
