译者的文化意识与翻译策略的选择--析张爱玲《金锁记》英译本

摘　　要：作为张爱玲为数不多的翻译作品之一,且是作家对其作品的自译,《金锁记》英译本为我们提供了一种极为典型的研究素材。论文以大量的译例为依据,考察张爱玲对《金锁记》原文文化元素的英译处理,分析译者的翻译策略主要受三方面因素的影响,即译者的源语文化意识、对目标读者阅读期待的考虑及译者语言能力的限制。The authors believe that Eileen Chang＇ s self-translated novella The Golden Cangue in English epitomizes a unique translation model and offers invaluable research materials for investigating, from a fresh angle, a core item in all translation： the translation of cultural elements. With examples extracted from Chang＇ s translation, the authors set out to examine her handling of the cultural elements contained in the original writing and arrive at the conclusion that Chang＇ s translation strategies of cultural elements evolve primarily from three aspects, namely, Chang＇ s predominant home culture awareness, her consideration of target readers＇ expectations, and the limitation of her own linguistic competence.
