摘  要:随着知识社会的到来,特别是在全球化、市场化的社会变革中,高等教育在社会发展中的作用变得越来越重要,承载的社会期望越来越多,高等教育质量问题也日益受到关注。作为保障高等教育质量的关键要素,高校教师发展也受到前所未有的重视,欧美发达国家都采取了多种措施来大力提高高校教师的素质。从加拿大高校教师发展的政策和实践来看,高校教师发展已成为高等教育改革的中心。With the advent of the knowledge society, especially in a globalization and market-oriented social change, higher education's role in social development is becoming increasingly important and carrying more and more social expectations. The quality of higher education has also been increasingly paid much more attention. As a key element to protect quality of higher education, faculty development has been paid unprecedented attention. Developed countries in Europe and America have taken various measures to improve the quality of university teachers. Faculty development has become the focus of the reform of higher education from the perspective of Canadian policy and practice.
