Reflection on the Teaching of Advanced English for English Majors in Border Area Universities——A Case Study Based on the Construction of Application-oriented Course

摘  要:高级英语课程建设的目的是寻求如何进一步提高学生综合英语能力的措施,建设中反映出来的问题应该引起重视。调查问卷中显示学生自主学习意识差,依赖性强,影响了教学方案的实施。本研究通过分析以上问题反思教学理念和教学实施过程,提出教师应坚持以学生为中心的教学原则,培养学生自主学习能力,并认为这是边疆地区高校英语教学质量提高的关键,也是英语教师职业发展的有效途径。The course construction of Advanced English aims to seek measures of promoting students' English proficiency,thus concerns must be given to problems in conducting the teaching.A questionnaire conducted exposed the problems of students' poor awareness of autonomy and strong dependence on teachers' impulses.By looking into these problems,this paper reflects on the teaching concept and the conduction of teaching methods,and then proposes that teachers should hold on the conception of student-centeredness and cultivation of students' competence of autonomous learning,assuming this reflective teaching the key point of improving teaching quality in border area universities,and an effective approach to teachers' professional development.
