摘　　要：默多克在《海,海》中从西方人比较陌生的佛教传统的角度,反观生活在基督教文化中的中产人士,使他们的弊病或者说道德缺陷更为清晰可见,而佛教在某种程度上却能提供一剂良药。本文尝试从佛教"四谛"的核心概念出发,从小说主人公查尔斯·阿洛比及其堂弟詹姆斯·阿洛比的道德成长两方面,对上述观点加以论述。This essay explores how Iris Murdoch reflects, from the perspective of Buddhism, on the life of the middle class in the Christian world in The Sea, The Sea. She believes that Buddhism can somehow act as an antidote. In the pilgrimage to the Good, Buddhism can provide spiritual power, while its magic elements in Tibetan Buddhism should be criticized. This essay analyses, from the viewpoint of the core Buddhist concepts of the Four Noble Truths, the moral growth of Charles and his cousin James.
