摘　　要："个人空间"是人们首先注意到他们与来自其他文化背景的人打交道时的文化差异之一。中国人和说英语国家的人对群体有着明显不同的态度,他们在人群中的表现也不同。隐私或许可以解释为什么,但"领土"和"体距"可能揭示给我们更深的文化渊源。＂ Personal space ＂ is one of the cultural differences that people first notice when they deal with people from other cultures. Chinese people and people from English speaking countries have obviously different attitude toward crowding and they perform differently in the crowd. Privacy might explain why, but the notion of ＂ territory ＂ and ＂ proxemics ＂ may reveal us deeper cultural sources.
