摘 要:语言和思维的关系是个古老而迷人的话题,从古至今有无数的哲学家、心理学家和语言学家参与了它的讨论。讨论主要集中在语言和思维是否可分,如果可分,是谁决定谁。在众多观点中,针对萨丕尔-沃尔夫假说的争议颇多。但以往对萨丕尔-沃尔夫假说的讨论虽然不少,绝大部分研究都显得实证不足。本文拟从一个新的角度———手语研究的角度再次探讨这一假说,希望能够通过大量的手语实证研究,包括手语失语症研究、手语者视觉感知实验和手语者大脑电势实验等证实这一假说,即语言能够塑造思维,影响思维的发展和形成。The relationship between language and thought is an ancient and fascinating topic. Numerous philoso- phers, psychologists and linguists have participated in its discussion which is focused mainly on whether language and thought are separable and if separable, which one is the decider. And among the numerous perspectives, those concern- ing Sapir-Whorf hypothesis have brought about considerable controversy. In view of the lack of empirical evidence in most of the previous studies of Sapir-Whoff hypothesis, this paper attempts to discuss this hypothesis from a new angle -- sign language research point of view, aiming at confirming the hypothesis, that is, language can shape thought or affect the development and formation of thinking through reporting many sign language empirical studies, including sign language aphasia studies, visual perception experiments of signers and the brain potential experiments of signers.
