摘　　要：把小说这一体裁在近代的兴起、小说论的泛滥与文学革命的关系放在整个中国现代性的历史过程中来考察,并对除梁启超、王国维等备受人关注的大家之外,其他人在确立现代文学研究范式方面的意义给予描述和评价,将能在肯定其历史贡献的同时,指出其思想局限以及现代文论自我瓦解的因素。This paper proposes to study the rise of the genre of the novel in the modern time and the relationship between the flooding of theories on the novel and the literary revolution from the historical perspective of Chinese modernity.A description and an evaluation will be made of the contributions of some lesser scholars who,though not given the kind of attention lavishly bestowed on masters like Liang Qi-chao and Wang Guowei,helped establish the paradigms of modern Chinese literary studies.While praising their historical contributions,this paper also points out their ideological limitations and the causes for the collapse of modern criticism.
