摘　　要：端方是晚清新式农业教育的倡导者和实践者。他仅重视兴办新式农业学堂,派遣农科留学生,而且还非常重视利用农书农报、农会以及农业试验场的社会教育功能,传播和推广近代农业科技知识。他的农业教育思想与实践富有进步意义,理应在中国农业教育史和现代化史上占有一席之地。Duan fang was a initiator and practitioner of the new agricultural education in late Qing Dynasty.He not only paid attention to found new agricultural schools and send agricultural science students,but also to use the social educational function of agriculture books,newspapers,agricultural associations and agricultural experimental farms in order to spread the modern agriculture science and technology knowledge.His thought and practice had progressive significance and should occupy a place in the history of agricultural education and modernization in China.
