“修己安人”——大学之道及其现代智慧

摘　　要：《大学》在中国思想文化史上占有十分重要的地位,对我国封建社会的各个层面都产生了巨大而深刻的启示、影响和沾溉。"明明德"、"亲民"、"止于至善"三者作为一个有机结合、紧密联系、不可分割的整体,充分体现了大学之道"修己安人"的意义所在。它横贯"四书"之间成为没有缺环的完整思想谱系,更纵览古今由孔子上承尧、舜,历经汉唐经学、宋明理学、明清实学直到近代,成为一以贯之的儒家核心价值观之一。在现代中国乃至全球性的人文思想崩落和道德价值迷失的情境下,大学之道通过现代性的诠释和转换能够也应当致力于弘扬道德尊严,解除现代社会中的道德精神危机,以求真务实的学术精神,正确处理道德与知识、科学与人文的关系,为今日高等教育的改革和发展开出自己的普世认识之方。The ＂Great Learning＂ played an important role in the history of Chinese thought and cul- ture; it had tremendous and profound enlightenment and influence on all aspects of the feudal society in China. ＂Manifesting luminous virtue＂, ＂renewing the people＂ and ＂resting in the utmost good＂, constitu- ting an organic indivisible combination, fully embody the meaning of the ＂Way of the Great Learning＂-- ＂Self-Discipline and Stabilizing Others＂. At horizontal level, as one of the ＂Four Books＂, it contributed to the holistic thought system. At vertical level, the book could date back to the time of Confucius who learnt ideas from Yao and Shun in even earlier times~ it has developed through the Confucian classics in the Han and Tang Dynasties, Confucian school of idealist philosophy in the Song and Ming Dynasties and practical learning in the Ming and Qing Dynasties until modern times, and has become one of the core values of Con- fucianism. In the context of the collapsing of humanity and the loss of moral value in China and even the whole world, the ＂Way of the Great Learning＂ should be used as a means to promote the moral dignity and relieve the moral crisis in modern society through modern interpretation and transformation~ it should be used with a truth-pursuing spirit to correctly handle the relationship between ethics and knowledge, sci- ence and the humanities in order to promote the reform and development of higher education.
