摘 要:在汉译英的过程中,广泛存在汉语动词倾向于译为名词、形容词或是介词词组这一现象。笔者将这一现象定义为"去动词化"倾向。研究发现:在单句中,"去动词化"往往发生在表示静态的动词上;在句群中,去动词化则发生在不占据语义重心的句子上。依据上述发现,笔者提出了两个朴素的经验性的概括,即状态一致原则和语义重心分布一致原则,并且,笔者把这两个原则进一步统一于奈达的功能对等理论。This paper explores such a phenomenon in Chinese-to-English translation (C-E) that Chinese verbal expressions tend to be translated into English nominal, adjectival or prepositional phrases, which will be defined as "Deverbalization Tendency". It's found that in simple sentences, it occurs in static verbs; in complex sentences, it appears in clauses that do not carry semantic focus. Based on this observation, we propose two empirical generalizations: the principle of consistent state and the principle of consistent semantic focus distribution, both of which are further attributed to Nida's functional equivalency theory.
