摘　　要：阅读理解是英语知识综合运用的体现。本文将通过了解提高中学生的英语阅读能力的重要性,找出影响中学生英语阅读能力的因素,探讨如何提高英语阅读能力。阅读是获取信息,拓宽视野,扩大知识面最直接,最有效的途径之一,阅读也是语言学习的四大要素之一(听,说,读,写),是理解和吸收书面信息的手段。近年来,英语阅读愈来愈显示出其重要性。阅读理解是每年的中考、高考题之一,并且占较大的分数比例,中学英语教学大纲对阅读的要求:侧重培养阅读能力,为进一步学习和运用英语切实打好基础。可见阅读能力的培养是整个中学阶段教学的重点。Reading comprehension is the embodiment of the English knowledge comprehensive use.The article will find out the factors of influencing the high school students＂ reading ability through getting the general idea of the importance of improving the high school students＂ English reading abilities and inquire into how to improve the English reading ability. Reading is one of the most directive and effective methods of obtaining information, opening up the field of vision and extending knowledge. Also reading is one of the four language learning＇s key elements （listening, speaking,reading,and writing） and it is the means of understanding and absorbing written information. Recent years, English reading more and more shows its importance. Reading Comprehension is one of the test of the entrance examination and tests. It is one of the bigger issue of the score proportion. The demands of high school English teaching outline are to train the reading ability and to build the good base to learn and use English deeply. The training of reading ability occupies the whole school teaching point.
