从《河湾》看奈保尔对知识分子命运的关注

摘　　要：英国著名小说家奈保尔是第三世界知识分子的典型代表,对知识分子形象的塑造和命运的关注也成为其作品的一个显著特色。作品《河湾》(A Bend in the River)形象生动地刻画了一系列知识分子形象。论文从后殖民主义理论家萨义德和葛兰西的知识分子论出发,通过剖析小说中不同类型知识分子人物形象,深刻感知奈保尔对知识分子命运的关注。V. S. Naipual is one of the representative intellectuals from the Third World, the characterization and fate of intellectuals has become a dominant feature in his works. The representative novel A Bend in the River is a good illustration. In accordance with Edward Said＇ s and Antonio Gramsei＇ s classifications of intellectuals, the thesis tends to analyze different types of intelleetual in the navel and aims to illustrate Naipaul＇ s ultimate concem over the predicaments and anxieties of intellectuals.
