摘　　要：薛宝钗是《红楼梦》中可爱、可悲的美丽女子。容貌美丽,聪颖过人;博闻强记,博古通今,见解独到;同情弱小,乐于助人;追求淡极之艳的美,举止娴雅。她有高过男人的行止见识,表现出超出一般人的才能。薛宝钗身上品质、才能和精神气质,是传统儒家的理想人格的具体化,代表着修身、齐家、治国、平天下的封建理想。薛宝钗最终的结局是悲剧性的,这集中表现在她的婚姻问题上。造成她的悲剧的原因主要在她自己,她参与了对自已美的毁灭,她是自觉地而又不知不觉地毁灭了自已。XUE Baochai,a lovely and tragic lady in Dream of the Red Masion,is beautiful,intelligent and extensively experienced with a good memory,unique opinions and her insight over ordinary men.Being Sympathetic to the weak,she is willing to help others.She Pursues beauty of elegance.Her quality,talent and manners reflect traditional Confucian ideal personality of self——training,family-managing,country——ruling,and world——harmonying.XUE Baohai is also a tragic figure of marriage.She mainly causes her own tragedy because of her intuitive and unknowing destruction of her own beauty.
