跨文化传播视野下的林纾及其翻译活动

摘　　要：林纾是近现代中西方交流史上起承转合的一位重要人物。基于跨文化角度审视,林纾是一位喜新又恋旧的人物,在新旧纠结中呈现了中西文化的碰撞与冲突;在晚近中国动荡时代,他不是一个"顽固的守旧分子",其价值不在于推动社会思潮的变革,而在于再三警醒世人不能一概舍弃中华传统的东西;而林纾的翻译活动,则有助于我们厘清晚近中国在中西方文化交汇过程摸索的理路与脉络。Examined in the perspective of intercultural communications, Lin Shu can be regarded as an outstanding figure who was attached to the modern but held on to the past. In the complexity of the mingling of the new and the old, his thinking was not without conflicts and colliding between the old and the new. He was not a stubborn person who only clang to the past. His importance lies in a- lerting the contemporary Chinese people not to discard everything that belongs to the tradition rather than propelling the transformation of the social ideology. His translation work has contributed to the clarification of the theorectical veins in the intermingling of the Chinese culture and the western culture in the last century or so
